Lift off for the Wonderful World of M&D’s website!
Summer 2010 saw the launch of a dynamic new interactive website, driven by a feature-rich content management system, for this multi-faceted visitor attraction in Lanarkshire to complement the raft of offline work our colleagues in Maguires produce for this high profile client.
Key to this project was our effective demonstration of M&D's brand values combined with cutting edge functionality and an overall appeal to engage a family audience, incorporating features ranging from sound to motion graphics. The website facilitates online ticket purchasing, feedback and complaint handling, in addition to event management.
The level of interactivity required for this project involved the development of Flash components which not only interact with the content management system, but also degrade gracefully for platforms without Flash, where static imagery is substituted to preserve the aesthetics and usability of the site.
As the youth market is a key audience for this attraction, effective integration with third party APIs such as Twitter and YouTube was vital, in addition to email marketing through sign-up facilities for e-news updates and special offers.
